your argument seemed like it was going here until you made it about Zizek’s “egotism”. It is not that he thinks that he is the only one who can criticize liberal democracy, but rather that the left is having a lot of trouble coming to grips with what this would even mean. He is for criticizing liberal democracy but against “resisting” it.
